Huntington was a man with a special interest in books, art, and gardens. He amassed the core of one of the finest research libraries in the world, established a splendid art collection, and created an array of botanical gardens with plants from around the globe. The property includes approximately 120 acres of specialized botanical landscaped gardens, most notably the "Japanese Garden", the "Desert Garden", and the "Chinese Garden" (Liu Fang Yuan). There is a Coffee Shop, Café, Rose Garden Patio, Chinese Garden Tea House & The Rose Garden Tea Room [Reservations required] where you can purchase a no host lunch.
